THE ASSASSIN and other books by Clive Cussler

Clive Cussler's new novel is THE TOMBS, co-written with Thomas Perry, who authored "The Butcher's Boy" and "Poison Flower," among others. It's your typical adventure plot involving a historic tomb of gold and jewels, competing treasure hunters, archaeologists, and a ruthless mercenary with a claim on the prize. The historical link this time is Attila the Hun, and the reader again is Scott Brick, whose engaging tone never fails to hold the listener spellbound.

In his previous novel, Cussler teamed with Graham Brown for another NUMA adventure, DEVIL'S GATE, featuring an extortion plot against world cities, beginning with Washington DC.  Longtime narrator Scott Brick takes the helm again, steering characters Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala into multiple dangers from the sea floor to darkest Africa.  Cussler's disparate plot threads gather like a fishing net bearing surprise treasures in a trademark blockbuster formula that rarely disappoints.  My interview with Cussler is here, and also see my interview with narrator Scott Brick on this blog. Among Clive's books is GHOST SHIP and THE ASSASSIN.
